Microsoft’s EdTech partner ecosystem plays a key role in how Microsoft can successfully serve our education industry customers around the world, so each year we meet to collectively discuss where the education industry is going, consider opportunities for the Microsoft Education Partner community, and share insights into Microsoft’s Education business strategy. The 16th Global Education Partner Summit (GEPS), held virtually from April 26th-28th, allowed Microsoft to connect with more than 1000 education industry partners to explore how we’ve already been able to identify opportunities and innovate to solve needs and advance education globally, and how we’ll do so in the future.
Microsoft Education Partners help students with pandemic learning disruption
Microsoft Teams’ assignments and Microsoft 365 integrations give our education partners the ability to enable rich end-to-end scenarios within core workflows—for both educators and students. It also makes it easier for instructors to give feedback on assignments. This not only saves teachers valuable time, it also gives them a range of powerful features to support the assessment of learning and engage students.
AI Hackathons challenge the next generation of changemakers
During Microsoft’s Imagine Cup Junior Virtual AI Hackathons, students from all over the world have proposed a number of impactful ideas that leverage the fantastic potential of AI for Good. Some of these ideas involved saving elephants and griffon vultures from becoming extinct, helping children with autism interpret the emotions of those around them, designing a smart trash bin that facilitates selective recycling, and deploying AI-powered aquabots that can safely identify and remove trash from garbage patches in the ocean.
